Pilgrimage to Gangotri

A journey to the ancient pilgrimage place where Ganga began flourishing.

It’s believed that Mother Ganga began, and continues to flow through India to purify and wash away the sins of mankind so they may attain liberation. Yet a Saint, Mahatma, Mahapurusha, like Swamiji is no ordinary human. And His arrival into Gangotri is filled with reverence and welcome, He comes not to purify, but to adore Mother Ganga, and offer His respects.

It felt as if two streams were coming together, one of Love and one of Wisdom, and for those few days Bliss became our nature.


Atma Anubhuti Yoga in Daily Life Retreat in Fiji

During the two week Retreat on Vanua Levu, in the Fiji Islands, Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda spoke about and translated Aporaksha Anubhuti of Sri Adi Shankaracharaya. Participants learnt about the Life of Sri Shankaracharaya, and it seemed that His Spirit was present in all the Satsangs (Spiritual discourses) that happened daily.

We were very fortunate that Swamiji visited New Zealand again this year, from 7 – 13 April. The topic of his lectures and satsangs was “Awakening peace and compassion in the heart through Yoga in Daily Life”.

UN INTERNATIONAL WATER SUMMIT IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

The Budapest Water Summit took place in the frame of the UN International Year of Water Cooperation, from 8-11 October 2013 in Budapest, organized in cooperation with UN institutions in order to discuss the most important issues related to the preservation of the world's water resources and the provision of safe drinking water.

The Water Summit was opened by H.E. Mr János Áder, President of the Republic  of Hungary and H.E. Mr Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations.H.H. Swamiji was invited to the Water Summit as a speaker on behalf of the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council & Yoga in Daily Life Fellowship.

New York – UN 24 April 2013

As a part of his world peace tour and the visit to the USA, H.H. Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwaranandaji visited the UN Headquarter in New York and participated in a special event of the titled Partnerships Forum "Partnering for Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Development". Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vivekpuri accompanied Swamiji at this exceptional event that was organized by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in collaboration other UN departments.


UN World Interfaith Harmony Week 2013 celebrated

The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne have just celebrated the 2013 World Interfaith Harmony Week and launched the Harmony DVD. World Interfaith Harmony Week is a UN Observance which is the first week of February every year. The DVD was screened at Federation Square on the Big Screen for eight days, twice a day and at random times.
